Bright Eyes is committed to ensuring the health and safety of the children in our care, both mentally and physically. This promise is upheld with the following COVID-19 policies:
- Each parent, child, staff member, or visitor is screened daily using the AHS COVID-19 daily questionnaire.
- Each time a play centre has been used at Bright Eyes, all of the centre’s contents (toys, furniture, floor, etc.) are cleaned according to Alberta Health Services (AHS) guidelines:
- High temperature dishwasher to clean toys that are dishwasher safe.
- Disinfectant cleaner followed by rinsing of appropriate items that are not dishwasher safe.
- Disinfectant spray for the remaining items unable to be cleaned by the above previous methods.
- Ensure room capacity and daily daycare limits, as set by the Alberta government, are not exceeded.
- Indoor fieldtrips such as Zumba classes and some outdoor fieldtrips are temporarily cancelled until COVID-19 is under control and these trips are deemed safe.
Children are curious and sensitive to the mood of those surrounding them. Our staff at Bright Eyes approach COVID-19 preventative methods as a learning opportunity for our children. Explaining our cleaning, visitor distancing, and screening questionnaire in a calm manner allows our children to feel comfortable with the changes around them.
