Welcome to Bright Eyes

Hello, Parents! You have arrived at our door looking for daytime care for either your first child, a second child, or maybe you have a new job and now you need before & after school support. Well, you’ve arrived at the right place…Bright Eyes Daycare. We at Bright Eyes realize how daunting it can seem to bring your child(ren) to be cared for while you are away. Rest assured, we have successfully transitioned many children to our daycare, and we are ready to support you both every step of the way! Read some of our most recent parent testimonials.

We invite you to check out the photo gallery of our care centre, familiarize yourself with our staff and owner, and then contact us during our regular service hours: 6 am to 6 pm MST. Please see our checklist below for parents new to Bright Eyes Daycare & Out-of-School Care (OSC).

If we do not have availability as soon as you were hoping, please put your name on our waitlist for the age group.

Reserve your child’s spot when you feel ready to go forward by calling us or visiting us to pay the registration fee ($100).

Complete Registration Package

Plan Transition to Daycare

Plan your child’s transition to daycare a few weeks prior to the official start date. We recommend a 2-week period for younger children and infants. During this transition period, you will join your child at daycare for a few short visits and then a few visits where they stay for an hour or two at a time without you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Below are some of the Frequently Asked Questions we get on a regular business from our prospective parents. If your question is not covered below, feel free to contact us.

Do you have an opening for the next school year?

You can check which programs (levels) at our daycare have availability by referring to the “Full Time Spots Available” for the relevant age group. Remember that the age group applies to their age at the time they will be starting daycare.

I checked your availability but there are currently no openings. Can I be put on a waitlist?

Yes, please do. Our waitlist link for each age group is found underneath the Full Time Spots for each program/age level. After you complete this form, we will contact you when an available spot opens up.

How do I secure my child’s spot at your daycare if we are not starting immediately?

You can do this by calling us or visiting us to pay the registration fee ($100).

I am ready to proceed with your daycare for my child(ren). How do I proceed?

1. Fill out the book a tour form, if you have not yet had a tour. You can receive the registration package from us and, if you feel ready, pay the registration fee ($100) to secure your child’s spot.

2. Fill out and email/drop off the registration package

3. After registration, we provide you with a parent’s handbook that contains details about our programs.

4. Once you receive a verbal or written confirmation that your child(ren) has been registered, we can organize a 2-week transition period if your child is younger.

5. Read through our checklist for transition to childcare

6. Prepare a daycare bag for your child at daycare. We recommend the following:

– Indoor shoes
– Change of clothes
– Nut-free lunch (no peanuts or tree nuts)
– For younger child/infant: Blanket for nap time, if appropriate, as well as diapers and wipes, as required.

I am really interested in seeing the daycare in person. Can I come by for a visit?

Yes. By selecting the Book a Tour button at the top right of this page, you will be guided through submitting a request for a tour.

My child has food allergies and I am nervous about bringing him to be cared for outside of our home. Do you have any experience with allergies?

Yes, we have experience working around allergies. Our daycare is a peanut-free and nut-free care home. We also work around other allergies such as eggs, dairy, and gluten. We invite you to book a tour to see our facility and/or contact us directly to discuss your concerns. We follow a 4-week menu that repeats throughout the year.

My child requires regular appointments with the occupational therapist. Is there any allowance for visit from the OT to occur at the daycare?

Yes, of course! We encourage parents to continue therapy they may have discussed with their child’s doctor by allowing therapists to work with the child at our centre, as needed. We are currently working together with Over the Rainbow Academy which provides many family-centered pediatric services. Together we coordinate visits so your child can continue their therapy without interruption. Please contact us directly so we can guide you through setting up this integration that will work for you and your child(ren).

Do you have any information on what to expect when we first start at daycare? My child has not spent a lot of time away from us.

Of course! When your child is starting daycare, it is normal for you to feel anxious. During the start of your child’s transition to our daycare and with your permission, we can send you pictures of your child during their play so you can be reassured and feel connected. At anytime, please know that you are encouraged to call us or email us if you are needing some reassurance or updates.

It is also normal for a child to be a little ornery during their first week of full daycare as they get used to the routine with other children. As you well know, children are quick learners and they swiftly find their rhythm and are encouraged when they see their friends following a similar routine.

What are your Covid-prevention procedures?

We ensure each centre and the toys within that centre are cleaned after each use. We use a high-temperature dishwasher to clean dishwasher-safe toys and the appropriate cleaners on non-dishwasher safe structures as per the Alberta Health Services guidelines. And, of course, each person entering the daycare satisfy the daily screening questionnaire of Covid symptoms/risks as provided by AHS. Follow this link to read more about our Covid procedures.

Do you have an outdoor playground space?

Yes, we have a large open space with natural grass, sandbox, outdoor play structures such as small slides, seesaw, chalkboard & markers board, balls, hula hoops, and more. Even during the winter, when the weather is mild, our children enjoy outdoor time whether it is in our playground or for a group walk. Outside of covid, we normally visit nearby parks but during this time we stick to our own playground and short walks.

Is their outdoor time during cold weather?

When the weather is colder than -20° C with the windchill, we keep the children inside. We offer plenty of encouragement for physical activity indoors as well with crawl-through tunnels, games, jumping mats, and the beloved dancing time. In the mornings, after story time, the kids participate in yoga and exercise time.

Are you open PD Days and holidays?

Yes, we are open all PD Days during the school year, Spring Break, and Fall Break.

Am I eligible for any reduced fees through affordability grants?
